The current Islamic Awakening movement in the Middle Eastern and North African countries is not a small flame to die away rather it is a strong storm formed by public demands of Arab nations, IRI Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said. He made the note in a message read to the 6th gathering on “Imam Khomeini and the Islamic Awakening” Tuesday morning. He said the awakened nations who clearly manifest Islamic tendencies in their rhetoric and mottos want to determine their fates on their own. He further noted that the Islamic awakening is the most important element for mobilizing people and inspiring anti-colonial sentiments in the region. Salehi added that one major factor in the success of the awakening movement in Iran was the belief in constructive and effective role of religion in contemporary developments.
