Iran imports 40mn doses of COVID-19 vaccines since outbreak

Over 40 million doses of coronavirus, COVID-19, vaccines have so far been imported into the country, Mehrdad Jamal Arvanaghi said on Saturday.

He further noted that a few million doses of COVID-19 vaccines will be imported into the country tonight on Sat. while two other million doses of the coronavirus vaccines will also be imported into the country tomorrow Sept. 05.

By importing the aforementioned doses of vaccine into the country, the number of total COVID-19 vaccines imported into the country up to the presence time will exceed 40 million, Arvanaghi emphasized.

The type of vaccines which have been scheduled to be imported into the country are of Chinese-made ‘Sinopharm’ which are imported into the Islamic Republic of Iran from China and/or other origin countries.

In the end, Deputy President of IRICA for Technical Affairs put the total number of shipment of ‘Sinopharm’ vaccines forwarded into the country up to the present time at 25.
