Iranian ambassador, UN special envoy discuss Iraq

Masjedi and Plasschaert expressed hope that the Iraqi government would be formed in accordance with the constitution in the shortest time possible.

Parliamentary elections were held in Iraq on 10 October 2021 but the government formation process is still underway.
