Iranian high-ranking officials cast their votes

Chairman of System Interest Council, Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, on Friday hoped that Iranian officials would help materialize the pivotal guidelines of the Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei. Talking to IRNA after casting his ballot for the 9th Majlis run-off elections, Rafsanjani said, “I am sure that if we upgrade production and attract the capital and assets of the Iranian expatriates, part of problems facing the country will be resolved.” Meanwhile Chairman of the Leadership Assembly of Experts, Ayatollah Mohammad-Reza Mahdavi-Kani, on Friday advised Majlis deputies to pass laws and monitor their implementation carefully and bravely. Talking to reporters after casting his ballot for the 9th Majlis run-off elections on Friday, the Ayatollah added that people drop ballot on the hope that their representatives in Majlis will help solve the problems facing the society. He further noted that the MPs are not responsible for solving problems of a certain area in the country; rather they all belong to the entire nation and should think of the whole nation. Some 130 hopefuls are vying for 65 seats in the ninth Majlis run-off elections underway in 14,323 ballot stations across the country.
