U.S, France step up pressure on Syria's Assad

BEIRUT (Reuters) - The United States said Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had lost legitimacy and was losing his grip on power, and France called on Tuesday for a Security Council meeting after Assad loyalists attacked the U.S. and French embassies in Damascus.
