IRI, Lebanese defence ministers start talks

IRI's Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi and his Lebanese counterpart Fayez Ghosn on Monday started second round of their negotiations. The two reviewed avenues to bolster bilateral defense cooperation and discussed the latest international and regional developments. Prior to the talks, the Lebanese defense minister held a meeting with Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili. The first round of talks between the two sides was held Sunday, focusing on various international and regional issues, the issue of Syria in particular. Lebanon’s defense minister arrived in Tehran on Saturday. He met with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi discussing issues of mutual interest.
