Islamic Republic of Iran's Ambassador to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ali Asghar Soltanieh said the IAEA's board of governors meeting on Thursday witnessed the defeat of US' diplomacy vis-a-vis Iran's diplomacy. At the end of IAEA's meeting in Vienna, Iran's ambassador pointed out that not issuing a resolution against Iran at the meeting and even issuing a statement by six countries concerning interaction between Iran and IAEA are tantamount to failure of US diplomacy vis-à-vis Iran's diplomacy, IRNA reported. Soltanieh recalled the US efforts over past two months for issuing an anti-Iran resolution against Iran in IAEA's board of governors. Referring to Iran's active diplomacy and holding two rounds of talks between Iran and IAEA, he noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to interact with IAEA. Commenting on support of the Non-Aligned Movement from Iran's nuclear program in IAEA's board of governors, Soltanieh said that a statement by NAM, representing more than 120 countries, in support of Iran's nuclear energy programme will be recorded as an important deed in the history of IAEA. He recalled that NAM in its statement, while supporting the continuation of talks between Iran and IAEA, has reiterated that Iran's nuclear energy programme should become something usual. Referring to NAM's condemnation of the assassinations of five Iranian nuclear scientists, Soltanieh pointed out that the families of martyred Iranian scientists have already thanked NAM for its approach.
