Former head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mohammad ElBaradei, on Tuesday warned the Zionist regime against attacking Iran, saying such a move would be total craze. Asked by if an Israeli military assault on Iran was looming, ElBaradei told dpa, "I don't think so. I think anybody who is going to attack Iran, frankly, will be total craze." "I think the Israelis are intelligent enough to realize that this will diminish their security instead of adding to their security," added ElBaradei who led the Vienna-based UN nuclear watchdog from 1997-2009. ElBaradei pointed out Israel was "sitting on 200 (nuclear) bombs." Dwelling on a likely settlement of the Iranian nuclear impasse, ElBaradei reiterated the urgent need for a US-Iranian rapprochement. "The issue is only going to be resolved when the Americans and the Iranians sit at the negotiating table and find a way to live together," the 69-year-old Egyptian politician said. ElBaradei voiced hope for serious negotiations after the American presidential elections in early November.
