Seddiqi slams planned union between Bahrain, S.Arabia
Tehran's provisional Friday prayers leader Ayatollah Kazem Seddiqi said people of Bahrain and the region as well as all Muslims of the world will never accept the conspiracy of union between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Addressing thousands of worshippers at Tehran University Campus, Hojatoleslam Seddiqi said since 15 months ago when the people's uprising in Bahrain started, Al-Khalifa regime has committed many crimes in that country such as killing and arresting people and different kinds of brutality with the approval of the US and direct help of Saudi Arabia. Referring to the plot of annexing Bahrain by Saudi Arabia, Seddiqi said although some Arab countries call this conspiracy 'union', it is clear that the government of Bahrain is yielding its identity to another country with full humiliation instead of meeting demands of its nation. 'Saudi Arabia is in a weak position; if it were strong, it would take back its two islands occupied by the Zionists,' said the Alim. 'Saudi Arabia should know that it would gain nothing from this plot except disgrace as it achieved nothing from its military presence in Bahrain,' added Ayatollah Seddiqi. He advised the United Nations Human Rights Council to issue an acceptable statement to condemn the crimes of Bahrain regime. The Council is to have a meeting in Geneva on Monday. On Baghdad meeting between Iran and G5+1 to be held this Wednesday, Ayatollah Seddiqi said as it was shown in Istanbul meeting, Iran supports logic and does not avoid negotiations because 'we do have logic'. 'Our logic is nuclear technology and energy for all and nuclear weapons for no one; we want disarmament of those who have used nuclear weapons against others and are now stockpiling them and threaten the whole human beings,' said Ayatollah Seddiqi. Elsewhere in his second sermon, Tehran Friday prayers leader criticized the government of Azerbaijan Republic for giving permission to a planned gay gathering in Baku and advised Baku government to return to Islamic values. 'While there are many restrictions for the mosques and religious leaders in Azerbaijan Republic, officials of the Zionist regime are freely coming to that country,'
