IAEA, Iran to hold nuclear talks on June 8
The Islamic Republic of Iran and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will hold new round of talks on Friday to try to reach an agreement, IAEA Chief, Yukiya Amano, said on Monday. "I wish to inform the board that a meeting between Iran and the agency has been scheduled for June 8 in Vienna," Amano said in a speech to the IAEA's 35-nation governing board, according to a copy of his remarks. Director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, made a visit to Tehran two weeks ago. Iran's IAEA envoy, Ali-Asghar Soltanieh, had an interview with reporters after a briefing at an IAEA technical meeting recently in that connection. In case of recent nuclear talks between Iran and G5+1, it should be also noted that Secretary of Supreme National Security Council of Iran (SNSCI), Saeed Jalili had two-day intensive talks with the G5+1, headed by the EU Foreign Policy Chief, Catherine Ashton, on Iran nuclear issue. The Baghdad meeting came after Iran and the six world powers resumed talks in Istanbul, Turkey, last month and agreed to meet again in the Iraqi capital on May 23. The two sides are due to continue their negotiations in the Russian capital, Moscow, on June 18 and 19.
