Ahmadinejad in China for SCO summit

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has arrived in China to participate in the 12th summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and to hold talks with Chinese officials. Ahmadinejad, heading a high-ranking delegation, arrived at Beijing International Airport on Tuesday night. Apart from participating in the summit scheduled from June 6-7, the Iranian chief executive will hold talks with his counterparts from participating countries. President Ahmadinejad will also meet and hold official talks with high-ranking Chinese authorities, including Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and President Hu Jintao. The SCO is an intergovernmental security organization that was founded in 2001 in Shanghai by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Iran, India, Mongolia, and Pakistan are observer states of the organization.
