Abbas calls for Palestinian unity

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused Sunday to reconsider a plan to build thousands of new homes in occupied territory, saying it was a necessary response to the Palestinian Authority winning recognition by the United Nations as a "non-member state."
