Moderate quake hits eastern Iran, 8 dead

BIRJAND, South Khorassan Prov., Dec. 8 (MNA) -- A 5.5 magnitude earthquake shook the city of Zohan, in South Khorassan Province on Wednesday at 8:38 p.m. local time (1708 GMT), killing eight persons, injuring dozens, and hundreds have been displaced. The earthquake caused damage to 38 villages.
