Hagel draws fire as Obama's Pentagon pick

WASHINGTON (AFP) - US President Barack Obama named Chuck Hagel to lead the Pentagon, setting up an ugly confirmation battle as Republican opponents said he was too hard on Israel and too soft on Iran.
